Broken But Not Shattered By Wasa A. Jerry

‘BROKEN BUT NOT SHATTERED’

By Wasa A. Jerry.

Hello dear reader!!

Thank you for considering to give my story a try.

Let me make a few points before I proceed.

Point no. 1
Please know that I am still a rookie not a Pro. So you might not find the professional touch you might be used to. Nonetheless, I’ll try not to goof.

Point no. 2
I’m writing spontaneously and for fun with the aim of educating some.

Point no. 3
I would like to apologise in advance for any grammatical or spelling errors. English is not my language but I won’t make any intentional mistakes.

Point no. 4
I will like to know what/how you feel as the story proceeds. Your comments and/or criticisms will be appreciated. But please when criticizing, do so constructively and with courtesy.

Prologue.

“Oh my God!!!  I am so tired. Kai, Unibrax no go kill person”. Salma my bunkie lamented slumping on her bed immediately she entered the room.

“Hmm!  I sighed.  Nothing good comes easy o babe.  You better get used to the stress.  I said in a bid to encourage  her.

“Na so university  life be?” she asked.

“Before nko?” I answered. “You think say na beans?”

“Nawao.  Me that came with the aim of graduation with First class or nothing else,  I’m  already giving up”. Salma said. “Let me just graduate self I don’t mind even if it is third class”.

“Ah!  I exclaimed. That’s  the beginning of failure let me tell you”.

“Ah! its not easy o”. She said to me

“See who is talking. No be me suppose tell you that one?  You are in UG1 (100L). So what’s the pessimism for?” I scolded her.

“You have to aim for the sun so that if you don’t get to it, you settle for the moon. But if you aim for the moon you might end up not even getting to the stars.”

“I don’t understand”. Salman said.

“Oya find something to eat and then I’ll tell you a story”.

“Eat ke?  That one can wait oo.  Please tell me the story”.

“OK ooo. This is the story of a young girl who  came to the university with a mindset like yours ‘First Class’ or nothing else. Listen carefully and learn from it OK?”
